While I was deployed, I was dumped.
I guess she didn’t really love me or found a new man to take care of her.
Being lonely wasn’t fun, but I wasn’t ready to seek out a new relationship.
One day I realized I wanted a dog, a truly loyal companion.
I searched the shelter for a pup, when I ran into her.
A family friend I hadn’t seen since she was a girl. Now she is all woman.

Elena:
It was a busy life going to school full time and volunteering at the animal shelter.
I hardly had time for myself, but I always loved taking care of the unadopted dogs.
One puppy was my favorite, and I wish I could take him for myself.
I considered him mine, until I saw Kyle walk in.
He was built, handsome as ever, and looking for a companion.
I knew he would bond with my favorite puppy.
I didn’t expect, however, that he would take such an interest in me.
