I have a big, potentially life-ruining problem. He’s six-feet-two, handsome as a superhero and as cocksure as they come. Not to mention that he just happens to be the detective investigating my brother Rocco for a murder he’s been framed for.
I’ve got enough to deal with trying to figure out who’s screwing with my family, without screwing with an actual enemy. Did I mention that my father’s the boss of New York’s most powerful crime syndicate and hates cops with a passion?
If he finds out what I’m thinking about doing with this detective and that I’m considering actually helping him free Rocco, then I could find myself banished from the family.

Warren:
She’ll be the death of me, I swear.
I need a promotion and the case against this kid Rocco is the slam dunk I’m looking for. The law is convinced he’s guilty as sin, but his sister isn’t so sure. And the worse thing, she might just be correct.
Proving it is another matter. Thing is, Maria Baroni just won’t let up. She’s got her claws in me deep and it’s all I can do to keep my head on straight, let alone resist.
Liaising with our sworn enemy is a quickfire route to trouble. If I’m wrong about this and I get caught, that’ll be it for me, for everything I’ve ever worked for.
And that just can’t happen.
