Steve Wojcik, a tourism writer, settles into a small town in Wales, preparing to write about the local area for a book and website promoting the country for a gay travel agency. This is only his first job, and his eagerness to impress his boss is consuming much of his sanity.

Finding it hard to work at the bed and breakfast, Steve spends a lot of time hanging out in a bakery cafe, writing and eating cake. There he meets a young baker, Euan Roberts, who has taken a break two years into his university degree.
