Jackson Barker is off-limits for a girl like me. Cocky, rich, handsome…and much older. On top of that, he’s my dad’s old best friend, so there’s no way I can go near him without causing trouble. There’s also the terrible fact that my mother murdered his girlfriend six years ago. He hasn’t gone near my family since, and I don’t blame him.
But then he saves me when I badly need help. Promises to take care of me. We both know we shouldn’t do anything; can’t do anything. It’s wrong—he’s twice my age, and my family’s dark history entwined with his makes it impossible.
But then he says the magic words. Let me be your daddy. Let me take you to my toy room.
I can’t say yes. I should run far away, avoid all the trouble.
The problem is, even though he’s forbidden to me, I just can’t help myself. I want to find out what he’s keeping in his toy box…
