KYRA:
My mother was a witch, she said. It ran in our family line, she said.
Now that she’s dead, I miss her so much. I long for that family connection.
Near Samhain, I travel back to her birthplace in the West Virginia mountains, to honor her spirit.
I feel the power in this ground. I feel her presence.
But after the ritual is complete, I’m disoriented by the bright moonlight. I’m lost, and alone.

LANDON:
I’m heading home from my friends’ Halloween party, up to my cabin on Moonlight Ridge.
I have to walk past the abandoned Macallan place.
My granny always told me that witches lived there. Be careful, she said, or you’ll be enchanted by them.
In the bright moonlight, I see the girl of my dreams, beautiful and otherworldly.
Granny was right: I’m bewitched.
