IT’S OVER. Life as I’ve known it was officially dead.
The veil of innocence had been lifted and left me stumbling to find my way.
Sure, I awoke every day and went through the motions, it’s what was expected. However, every time I laid awake at night staring at the ceiling, the persistent voice just wouldn’t let me be.
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO SACRIFICE YOUR SOUL FOR? It taunted incessantly.
I knew it was a test; one that had been given to challenge my faith—to speak to my morality, to give me a chance at redemption.
And in that, I failed. Because, despite my stumbles, my answer always remained the same.
HIM. Garland. I would sacrifice my soul for him every single time.
Perhaps I’m crazy. But, I made a binding deal with the devil that couldn’t be broken.
I just pray that deal doesn’t get me killed.
