I knew from the moment I saw Polina’s picture in the mail order bride database that she was the one.
I was determined to do anything and everything to help her get comfortable and keep from scaring her off. And as hard as it was, that included being a modern-day gentleman. So I signed an 80-day contract with myself to respect her space, give her time to work through culture shock, and allow our relationship to develop. That gave us the maximum amount of time to get to know each other before our legally mandated wedding deadline.
