There were a lot of hero firefighters during the Crystal Canyon Fire — but Jess Morrison doesn’t count himself as one of them.
After all, he not only almost lost his life fighting the blaze, but he also blames himself for letting the fire destroy his small town’s historic pioneer homesteads.
Years later, he’s still under fire from the scars that disaster left him with, both physical and otherwise. He’s not sure he’ll ever be free of the nightmares, or if he even deserves to be.
Until he meets curvy historian Rosie Fields, that is. She’s working to build a replica of the homesteads to keep local history alive.
