Addiction makes monsters of men and it’s a deep hole to climb out of, once you’ve reached the bottom. It becomes quite a tangle for a great, foot-swallowing oaf like Bram.

Despite his best efforts to steer clear of Bram, Jayce can’t seem to escape him. Everywhere he turns, temptation and irritation await and the fights are bewildering and often explosive. It doesn’t help to have a family full of meddlers. The inhabitants of Carlton House and Gallahide Castle all seem to be conspiring against Jayce and are determined to test his sanity and sobriety.

Which leaves us with a tricky yet delightfully naughty, sometimes hysterical puzzle to sort out. Can Jayce forgive himself for his terrible past and give his fledgeling heart a chance? Can Bram overcome the mistakes he’s made and find the courage to try again? Can a truce between two stubborn, lonely, explosive souls last? Will a truce lead to redemption and love if they’re both willing to take a chance?
