Katie is covering for a friend in the E.R when Daryl comes walking in. He is busted up from kicking an abusive husband out of the shelter. Katie treats his wounds and despite the fact that he flirts with her, she ignores it and focuses on her work.
Katie figured that was the end of their meeting, but a few weeks later she sees Daryl again back in E.R with similar injuries. She makes the assumption that he got into a bar fight, but when he reveals what really happened she can’t help but grow interested in this man.
Despite her better judgment she agrees to a dinner date that weekend and they can’t keep their hands to themselves.
