Summer’s Night by K. Draper

After Jake’s life spirals out of control, his only option is to escape and leave it all behind. Hopping in his grandfather’s favorite old truck, “Big Red,” Jake makes his way across the country on a much-needed road trip, trying to leave heartbreak and memories behind him in Washington. Summer Walker has lived in the shadow of her mother her whole life. She thought her high school sweetheart would save her, but in the end, it wasn’t in the cards. Summer works the horses on her father’s cattle ranch with her father and brothers. She is throwing her life into her work so that she doesn’t have to face the townspeople.
When the town mechanic brings Jake’s truck to Summer’s father to fix it, sparks fly between the two. The only problem is wounds from the past haven’t healed yet. Can time together heal old wounds, or will it just open new ones?
