Scout:
I’d been managing bands in my father’s label for years. I had a wealth of experience and a work ethic that never failed me. In short, I was damn good at my job and I hadn’t come up against a situation I couldn’t get a handle of.
That was until I met Drake Jackson.
The second my eyes landed on him in the boardroom I knew I was in trouble. He had a way of throwing me off my game. I didn’t know if it was those gorgeous eyes or the smooth timbre of his voice but something unnerved me in the most delicious way possible.
Drake was able to pull my guards down and see through the tough, work exterior to the woman beneath it. He wanted me to open up to him, wanted me to let him in.
But letting him in would mean permanently dropping all my well-placed guards and risking my career. A career I had worked damn hard to build up.
Loving Drake was a risk but was he a risk I could afford to take?

Drake:
Scout was a tour managing goddess. She was confident, tough and able to think on her feet.
She was also closed off, distant and had a tough shell she refused to let anyone see past. Something about the lithe, straight-talking woman set my blood on fire. All I had to do was convince her to give in to her urges, let her desires take over. She had to see that not everything revolved around work.
Slowly she let her guards down, she relaxed around everyone, she made bonds. We were happy.
Until the day my past came back for retribution.
Nobody could have seen it coming until it was too late.
