Alaine Lockley is looking forward to three weeks off from her job as a recruiter of Thonaxian bodyguards. It means time at home and most especially time away the Uron, captain of the Thonaxian ship, who stirs disturbing feelings of attraction inside her. But when her boss asks her to take a last minute trip to Thonax, Alaine reluctantly agrees.
Uron Viltra is traveling home to Thonax, not as captain of the ship but as a passenger. He is delighted that Alaine is traveling on the same ship, because it will give him a week to explore his attraction to her. Unfortunately those plans go awry when Agroxian pirates attack the ship and Alaine is kidnapped.
A desperate Uron goes to the planet where Alaine is set to be sold in the slave market. But saving her from her captor is only the first step as together he and the woman he is falling in love with must find a way to stay alive and get off the hostile planet.
