He was wrapped in danger and I recklessly believed I could tame him.
My mother once told me the smartest thing a woman could do was hide her intelligence. I never understood why a woman would want to do that.
I’d chosen to live my life to the fullest, not wanting to hiding any part of me. And I’d mostly succeeded at that… until him.
Turned out I wasn’t as bright as my mother believed me to be. If anything, I was brilliantly reckless, which was a dangerous combination.
