Since the incident at my brother’s club, Amy and I barely speak. She is my employee and—more importantly—my unmarked mate. Amy is also a demon, and therefore an expert deceiver, so she pretends everything’s fine while I plot my return into her life.

Tonight, when I show up at my bar to help Amy close her shift, there’s another bartender in her place. I stop by her house, and discover her belongings are gone. When I dig through the trash for clues, I find the pregnancy test.
It’s positive.
