Not So Fake by R.S. Elliot

The plan was easy: fake a marriage to shake off a creepy ex.
I just never expected those feelings to turn into something real.

I grew up in a tiny town where the cars might as well be on a track;
nothing new ever happens and my career is going nowhere.
With my heart set on the city, I’m treading water until I can make it there.

That is, until the worst of my exes shows up looking for employment in the same firm as me.
When he makes it clear that he can’t remain professional (even if I can), I drop a bomb on him.
I’m married… to my late brother’s best friend.

The only problem is, Harrison doesn’t know about it yet.
I’ll have to convince him to play along to save myself the head- and heartache of working so closely with someone who knows me so intimately; someone who won’t take no for an answer.

Harrison was there for me when my family drifted apart after losing my brother, but can I count on him to be there for this?
Maybe he needs a little extra encouragement.
