When William Carter gets the call that his best friend and his wife have been killed in a car accident, his entire life changes. He never expected anything to happen to his long-time best friend. It was why he’d promised to take care of his son Riley if anything ever happened to him. He never imagined he’d actually have to keep that promise. He takes the boy in, but he knows he isn’t fit to be a parent. So, he hires someone to do the job for him. He thought it was for the best.

Having his life change in the blink of an eye wasn’t something Riley ever expected but he was grateful for it. He knew his parents would do what was best for him, which was why he lived every day of his life making them proud.

When Riley graduates from college, he knows exactly what he wants to do with his life. So, he seeks out the man who has been financially taking care of him for most of his life. However, he didn’t expect the instant attraction he felt at seeing William Carter for the first time in fifteen years.

William is hesitant to give Riley a job at his office. Not because he isn’t qualified but because he isn’t sure he’s capable of keeping his hands to himself. Riley grew up and he was more handsome than William could have imagined.
