After a long and hot summer back home helping his family with the ranch, Landon Woods is more than happy to return to Trinity Pacific University. He doesn’t have to hide who he is anymore, doesn’t have to fear what others might think of him. The only thing he has to worry about is retaking and passing the music theory class he failed last year, and this is his last chance to do it. If he doesn’t, he will not graduate on time and his scholarships will run out. But will the arrival of Tri-Pac University’s newest and hottest music professor threaten his chances?

Derek Serrano hadn’t planned on instructing any music theory courses his first year at Tri-Pac until an unexpected emergency resulted in Derek being assigned the new class at the last minute. Even the head of the department has recognized that Derek has been given a near impossible task. Derek, however, sees this an an opportunity to jump start his career and is determined to prove himself as more than flexible and adept. That is, until the arrival of Landon Woods in his classroom.

Landon and Derek try everything they can to keep out of each other’s way, knowing that the slightest spark can set fire to their plans. But despite their best efforts, they can’t help but gravitate toward one another. As the secrets and their feelings deepen, they struggle to find a solution that will satisfy them both. And it may just tear them apart.
