When he called to tell her he was coming back to town to settle his mother’s affairs, she wanted to tuck tail and, but Billie wasn’t the runner; Slayer was. Now he’s back and she has to figure out what that means, and if she’s still in love with him after all these years…
Slayer knows he screwed up royally six years ago. He shouldn’t have left town without taking Billie with him, but the second he crosses over into Georgia, he feels like maybe he could have a second chance with her. There’s only two problems: Billie’s so stubborn she likely won’t forgive him, and he has a renegade crew tearing apart his mountains back home. He’s got six years of making up to do, and only a couple of weeks to do it, but there’s only one certainty he can count on: he’s not leaving Georgia without her.
