Zelene Walker is in a tight spot. After going in head first to accomplish her dream, she realizes running a bakery is much harder than she thought it could be. Now she is deep in debt and needs to figure out a way to get herself out of the hole she has dug before she ends up losing everything she’d worked so hard to get.
Luke Barett is a man of mystery. Little is known about him except for the fact that he is a lumberjack who lives in the middle of the woods in complete solitude. He doesn’t seem interested in anything or anyone. Or so Zelene thought. For a man so unsociable, she didn’t understand why he continued showing up at her bakery every day.
After an emotional call from a debt collector and an impossible promise later, Zolene finds herself confronted by Luke. She’s given an offer to save her bakery. He’ll pay off her debts if she gives him… herself.
An offer she should have easily been able to reject. Yet even after agreeing, she finds herself enjoying it more than she should.
What could possibly be worse? Submitting to the lust or the heartbreak that is definitely to come after?
