Angie:
When I’m caught fleeing a drug den, it doesn’t look good. The last person I expect to slap handcuffs on me is my ex, Jesse. He’s as uncompromising and dangerously attractive as I remember. Then he throws me in a jail cell.
I want his help desperately, but telling Jesse the truth means betraying another. Maybe it would have been better if he’d never come back into my life.

Jesse:
She left me two years ago with an empty wallet and a note that read, “Sorry.”
I thought I’d put her out of my mind, but when she turns up in a drug bust, I’m reeling. I never thought Angie would get caught up in something like this, but then again, how well did I really know her?
