It had been two long years since I had been to the only place I ever called home. I was fourteen the last time I was able to see my father. So much looked the same as we drove up the driveway to the two-story home I had loved so much. I couldn’t wait to see Rosie. She was the housekeeper and the one who had raised me until the divorce. It seemed as if she was the only one who ever cared.
When the door swung open, I couldn’t believe my eyes. In front of me stood the most gorgeous boy I had ever seen in my life. He had dark brown hair, blue eyes, muscles, and was so tall. I was speechless. My body wasn’t moving. I wasn’t sure what to do or say.
“You must be Princess Carrie,” the amazingly hot guy said.
“And you would be who?” I asked nervously.
“Really?” he asked, as he narrowed his eyes at me. “Your father didn’t tell you.”
“Um,” I said, as I moved from foot to foot.
“I’m Kyle,” he said, but I didn’t respond, so he continued. “Our parents are married.”
That was the beginning of the summer I would never forget.
It all started when I found out that he had taken over my room. That was when I knew he was going to be a pain in my side, and I screwed with him every chance I got.
With each day that passed, things began to change between us.
Then he left for the military, and I went back to my mom’s to finish school.
Two years later, I packed up everything I owned and moved back to the only place I would ever call home. One thing happened after the next, and before I knew it, I was moving again, far away from him.
Then something happened that would change my life forever.
Everything I had run from was staring me in the face.
I knew I had to keep it from him. I was sure it was the right thing to do.
Then I got a phone call that made me question everything.
Had I made the right decisions or the hugest mistake of my life?
