Howard Holiday is assigned with guarding his ex-girlfriend, in a cabin, at a ski resort, over the Christmas break. Bonus, Phoebe doesn’t know that she needs protecting or that her dad, recently retired General Craig, won’t be there. Phoebe knew Howard as a Marine with career ambitions, the reason her father convinced him to break up with her.

Some things have changed for Howard, but his feelings for Phoebe isn’t one of them. Phoebe, used to being disappointed by her ambitious father, isn’t surprised that he wasn’t surprised to find him absent. She was surprised to find a civilianized Howard as her keeper for the vacation. She knows that Howard would do anything to protect her, but how far would he go to get her back?
