Just out of college, Roni Buckley is ready to climb the first rung on the ladder to success at Hudson Industries. But being a woman in the construction industry in 1980 has its challenges, and Roni will need her self-confidence, sense of humor, and the support of her girlfriends as she navigates a career in a predominantly male industry while looking for romance and her happily-ever-after.
Before long, she meets Bill, an older, divorced “bad boy” who has her mother lighting every candle on the West Side, praying for divine intervention. Then there’s sexy hockey player Jake, Roni’s best friend who seems destined to become more, if the time was ever right.
