Ryan’s career as a world champion bronc rider came to an abrupt end when an accident left him unable to ride. After drinking away his sorrows, he hit rock bottom and has now moved back home to the family ranch in Prairie Valley to live with his brother Sam. Ryan misses the rodeo, and the bottle, but he’s trying to leave that all in the past to win the approval of his son, Jesse, who wants nothing to do with him.
Rosie is a horse lover who grew up next door to Ryan. She’s happy to see him return to town, but when he comes into her bar one night, she refuses to serve him, knowing his past struggles to stay sober. Nevertheless, a friendship develops as Rosie helps Ryan work on his relationship with his son.
Rosie wants to take their friendship to the next level, but he pushes her away, afraid that he’s a mess and that he’s all wrong for her. But, after Rosie starts seeing another guy, Ryan realizes he may have made the biggest mistake of his life.
