Lucy:
People leave me. That’s the lesson I’ve learned in life.
I can’t count of many and those I can, they’re all gone, too.
After my sisters wedding goes awry, I need to winddown.
I find myself in the local pub–Chartruese Clover staring into the eyes of a past I can’t remember, but a future I can’t forget.

Booker:
Lucy is my daughter’s childhood friend and I’ve wrecked enough relationships that I’m going to stay far away from her.
Even if I don’t want that.
But when the electicity goes out, I see how scared she is and I can’t help myself but to comfort her.
