But not for the reasons you’d think. No, it’s because he’s a shifter, and while I’m just a human, I can detect supernatural creatures. They all make my skin hum.

He’s something else, that’s for sure.

High handed. Blunt. Arrogant. Lucas thinks he knows what’s best for me, and doesn’t really seem to care much for my opinion, as evidenced by the fact that he kidnaps me. For my own protection, he says.
Apparently, I’ve become an object of interest for two demigod brothers—one who believes he’s destined to marry me, and the other, Lucas’s employer, who doesn’t want me marrying into the family. I guess a lowly human isn’t good enough for the likes of a demigod.

I can’t marry someone else if I’m already married, though, right? And that’s where things get really crazy. Because after spending so long with this overprotective shifter, I start to see his good qualities. Loyalty. Honesty. Protectiveness. And soon my skin starts humming when Lucas is around for a very different reason.
But there are more sinister forces at work, and threats abound on every side. Will my sham marriage with Lucas turn into something more? Or will his duty to his demigod win out and tear us apart in the end?
