Beth:
These mountains used to be my home, and I said I’d never come back.
I have a great job in the city, but all the travel has been a drain lately.
And then I get word that my aunt’s left her popular bar to me up on the mountain and I have a decision to make–keep it and move back or sell it and keep moving for work.
When a tall drink of whiskey walks into the place and plops a dove down on the counter, I wonder if I’m in the middle of being punked by my aunt.
But he’s for real- and really handsome and sweet- wanting to save the dove’s life after it flew into his truck and bumped its head.
It’s not only the dove that dizzy, I find myself swooning over his attention.
Will I stay or will I go, and who’s heart will I break in the process?

I’m known for rescuing things- animals, people, junk on the side of the road.
That last part is my job up here. I keep the mountain beautiful…
But not as beautiful as Beth.
Sure she’s older than me, by a good decade, but with it comes a wisdom I find undeniably sexy.
And when I need someone to help me rehabilitate the dove, she doesn’t blink.
Dove’s mate for life, but Beth assures me she’s not the “forever after” kind of girl.
Can I show her that in my arms is where she’s meant to be?
Or will she leave me as broken as the dove?
