There’s nothing quite like the scent of old books, which makes my job in the special collections section of the university library the best place to be. Especially since she has started showing up each week. I doubt she’s ever noticed me with her nose nearly pressed to the books. But when she uncovers a mystery, she asks for my help. How can I refuse her?

I’m working on my graduate thesis about American painter Josephine La Monte when I find a letter stuck between the pages of her journal. It’s a love letter addressed to her, but it doesn’t say who it’s from. So with the help from the cute librarian, we take a trip to the historic La Monte family home to see if we can find any clues to his identity. What we find may change history and change our future in the process.
