I liked her, because I didn’t like her. Not at first, anyway. She had a pretty face, strong eyes, but I could tell she was getting wet just looking at me. But then! Yes, something changed in her. She let me know she was made of more than just lady shapes and soft breath in cheap lace.
She had some power alright, and it was sobering to meet someone vaguely on the same level after being stuck in that room all day, listening to those morons bang on about what had happened to poor old Nicholas. If what they said was even true. They weren’t telling me anything, but strongly suggested they had all the evidence needed to put me away for good.
I’d bit my tongue all day, I wasn’t that stupid. But if it wasn’t for Miranda coming in when she did, I would’ve been adding a section form to the charges, pleading insanity. It was too much for me to deal with, with none of my usual team, personnel or facts in front of me to refer to. It was a one-sided set up and it felt dirty.
I needed help; sure, but I was hoping for something a little less bristly than what Ms. Stiles started dishing out. I thought she was hot for me at a glance, but she turned to ice since I suggested she get me out of there pronto. I’d pushed the wrong button, and knew I was going to have to pay for it before I got to play again.
How on the hell will she get me off of this murder charge? And how on earth will I stop looking at her like that?
Something big is going to go down… or up!
