Daisy:
All the nurses are drooling over our new patient.
He could have his pick of them.
But he wants me.
Booker’s full of surprises like that.
Part of me wishes he wasn’t into me.
Because I admit, I’m into him too.
But I loved a biker once before—and I got hurt.
I can’t bear another loss like that.

Booker:
I don’t throw around the “L”-word.
I try not to love anything I can easily lose.
She gets that.
A motorcycle crash sends me to the hospital.
I lost my hog. But I met her.
I’m grateful to Nurse Daisy for taking excellent care of me.
Now it’s my turn to take care of her.
And love her—if she can let me, and love me too.
