Matthew Ward is simply down on his luck. He has been kicked out of his home, his friends turned against him and he’s stressed out from his college studies. He finds himself aimlessly wandering around in search of any sort of sign.

He literally trips over it—a young puppy named Sam. A ghost from his past shows up and turns out to be the spark of his waning hope.
