An uncle I barely knew left me a house in a tiny city. Fantastic news, right? I can sell it and probably buy myself a studio in a fishy area here in town. That’s how crazy expensive things are.
But nothing comes easy for me.
Uncle Avery had one condition: to spend the two weeks until Christmas in town.
Ugh. The things I do for cash. I barely have access to the internet.
Worse: Uncle Avery’s lawyer keeps checking on me, hoping I’ll fail the condition.
I’ll prove him wrong. I’ll stay the fifteen days, and then I’m off.

City girls have no idea what they’re missing.
Alaska arrives in town with the expected behavior — she wants to leave, she hates not having access to the internet, she can’t post selfies of her on Instagram. That last part is me guessing.
Just to prove a point, I’ll show her around. I’ll make her see this place is amazing.
I tell myself that’s the only reason I’m visiting her every day, but my wolf scoffs at me. He knows there’s more to it.
No matter. She won’t stay, so I can’t let myself fall.
