Wes Evans has been in love with his best friend (and sometimes friend with benefits) Andrew Hart since before he understood what that word meant, but he’s never said a word, waiting for Andrew to make the first move. Wes has always followed Andrew. He didn’t expect to change that in love.
Andrew is the jump first, think later kind of guy, except when it comes to their clients at Smoke’s Adventure Crew where he and Wes have been working as guides since they were sixteen. Andrew has always felt more at home in the wilderness than anywhere else, and while the tours give him a way to make money doing something he loves, they don’t fill his hunger for adventure… adventure that would often put him in danger if Wes weren’t there to save him.
Every year, the two go on a backpacking trip, just the two of them. Andrew gets to indulge in his reckless behavior, Wes keeps him from injuring himself, and more often than not, they fall into bed, or sleeping bags, together each night.
But when Andrew takes one risk too many, Wes is faced with the realization that he can’t follow Andrew forever without breaking something more important than bones… something like his heart.
